I was really into horror and fantasy novels as a kid.
For some reason my parents were completely opposed to them. They would rather I read something non-fiction. As the years went by they eventually gave up trying to control my reading habits but for a while there I found myself hiding the books I got from the school library, telling them there was a one book per student limit. I would always check out two books, one for me and one to throw them off.
There are still times when I'm careful not the let my mother see what I'm reading. But usually it's just a particularly violent sounding horror novels.
Particularly my copy of Books of Blood and my Squee comic.

I think I make the same post every time I watch one of his films, but each film is so beautiful it's hard to resist.
